About the Event
The 2nd Edition of AMS International Honor & Award – Japan 2024 was successfully held in Tokyo, Japan, with the theme “Campaign to Promote Tourism, Art, and Culture – Our Contribution to Building a Prosperous Nepal.”
This grand cultural event was designed to celebrate Nepali identity abroad, strengthen cultural ties, and recognize achievements across various creative and social sectors. It brought together renowned Nepali and Japanese personalities, community leaders, artists, and diaspora members under one platform of unity and celebration.
Highlights:
•Presence of Leading Nepali Celebrities:
A large delegation of well-known personalities traveled from Nepal to Japan, including:
•Senior artist Shambhujeet Baskota
•Veteran actors Shiva Shrestha and Bhuwan K.C.
•Lyricist/Composer Chetan Sapkota
•Popular singer Anju Panta
•Pop singer Kamal Khatri
•Choreographer Gajit Bista
•Journalists Rishi Dhamala and Naresh Bhattarai
•Honor and Awards:
The event featured honors and awards in 26 different categories, recognizing contributions in music, cinema, journalism, choreography, and community leadership.
•Legendary musician Shambhujeet Baskota was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award, including a cash prize of NPR 71,101.
•Bhuwan K.C., Shiva Shrestha, Chetan Sapkota, Rishi Dhamala, among others, were also honored for their contributions in their respective fields.
•Recognition of Diaspora Leaders in Japan:
Prominent figures contributing to the Nepali community and business in Japan were honored, including:
•Om Gurung (Chairman, JMC Money Transfer)
•Bijesh Thakali (Chairman, Nepalese Business Association Japan)
•Rabin Shrestha (Vice President, NRN IIC)

The event featured diverse musical and dance performances from both Nepal-based and Japan-based artists.
•Shambhujeet Baskota performed some of his iconic hits, accompanied by Anju Panta and Smita Dahal.

•Awards such as Versatile Singer (Anju Panta), Best Pop Singer (Kamal Khatri), and Best Choreographer (Gajit Bista) were highlights of the evening.
